Iliso Care Society is making a difference in the lives of young men and women through its innovative youth skills programs. With a focus on video and photography training courses, Iliso is empowering youth to unlock their creative potential and seize opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Through partnerships with organizations like the City of Cape Town in 2018, Iliso has provided training to 50 unemployed youth, equipping them with the skills to script, film, and edit short productions using nothing more than smartphones, laptops, and projectors. These young individuals have embraced the power of technology and creativity, and many have gone on to start their own filming and photography enterprises, while others have found employment covering events and capturing precious moments.
Iliso's impact doesn't stop there. Recognizing the importance of education and support, they extend their reach to children studying in schools in Khayelitsha and Ntabethemba in the Eastern Cape. Through a dedicated learner support program, Iliso offers assistance to children struggling academically, especially during exam periods. By providing tutoring and essential resources, Iliso ensures that every child has the opportunity to succeed in school and beyond.
